Directions to See for travel by car

If you arrive from Germany:
From S 16, also referred to as the Arlbergschnellstraße, take exit Pians and continue on the Silvretta Bundesstraße (B 188) in the direction of Ischgl for about 7 kilometres. From Germany, three routes will take you to the S 16 in Tyrol:

You approach See on the German motorway (Autobahn) A 7 or A 95, both going south. This route will take you to the Fernpassbundesstraße (B 179) via Imst and Landeck to the motorway (Autobahn) A 12 and subsequently to the S 16 (Arlbergschnellstraße) in the direction of Pians. You travel on the German motorway (Autobahn) A 93 in the direction of Innsbruck. The Austrian Inntalautobahn (A 12) will take you via Kufstein, Innsbruck and Landeck to the S 16, the Arlbergschnellstraße, on which you will drive all the way to Pians. You take the German motorway (Autobahn) A 96 in the direction of Lindau and enter Austria via the A 14. Follow this Autobahn to Bregenz, Feldkirch and through the Arlbergtunnel until you get to the S 16, which will take you to Pians. In the summer you have the option to exit the Autobahn in Bludenz and travel to See over the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße (Silvretta High Alpine Road).

If you are coming from Italy:
From S 16, also referred to as the Arlbergschnellstraße, take exit Pians and continue on the Silvretta Bundesstraße (B 188) in the direction of Ischgl for about 7 kilometres. From Italy, two routes will take you to the S 16 in Tyrol:

You go north on the motorway (Autobahn) A 22 crossing the Brenner to get to the Austrian A 13; in Innsbruck you follow the signs to Bregenz, travel the A 12 until you get to the S 16, on which you continue to Pians. You travel north on the SS 40 crossing the Reschenpass and then take the B 180 to Austria. This route will take you via Nauders and Landeck to the S 16 in the direction of Bregenz and all the way to Pians.

If you are travelling from Switzerland:
You will approach Austria on the A 3 to Feldkirch or on the A 1 to Lustenau and Dornbirn. In Austria, follow the A 14 in the direction of Innsbruck. Remain on this Autobahn and pass through the Arlbergtunnel, then take the S 16 to exit Pians. Take this exit and stay on the Silvretta Bundesstraße (B 188) in the direction of Ischgl until you reach the vicinity of the turnoff to See. In the summer you have the option to exit the Autobahn in Bludenz and travel to See over the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße (Silvretta High Alpine Road).

 

Travelling to See by train

If you plan to connect to See by line bus, your train travel destination is the Landeck-Zams station in Tyrol. Line bus 4240 leaves in the direction of Ischgl and Galtür straight from the station plaza. The ride takes less than an hour.

Travelling to See via plane

The easiest way to reach your travel destination See via a scheduled flight is to fly into Innsbruck and then take the train or a rental car.

Your airport of arrival is Innsbruck (INN). In the summer scheduled flights are available from and to airports such as Vienna, Frankfurt, Cologne, London and Nice. In the winter additional connections to and from Berlin, Amsterdam, Manchester or Moscow make travel to See via plane even more convenient.
